RMITV Industry Workshops presents: Development Funding with Mark Ruse
July will see RMITV welcome back Mark Ruse as a very special guest speaker. Late last year, Mark ran a 4-hour producing masterclass at RMITV and we’re thrilled to have him back.
This time around, Mark will give a 2-hour talk covering development funding for writers and producers of web-series, TV drama and comedy, and feature films. We’ll delve into what’s available from the major funding bodies (Screen Australia, Film Victoria etc.) as well as other modes such as grants. The class will also give attendees a solid insight into applying for development funding and provide the knowledge to feel confident about your options as a writer, director and/or producer.
Mark has over 250 hours of prime time television comedy and drama, over 300 hours of live television, more than 20 documentaries and 5 AFI nominations (1 win for Best Comedy). His producing credits include Kath and Kim – the highest rating locally produced comedy series ever screened on the ABC, The Games (Logie for Best Comedy), The Secret River (8 AACTA nominations) and Bed of Roses (2 AFI nominations).
Some of the topics that will be covered are:
What is development funding and when/why should you apply for it?
Funding available in Australia and Victoria through the major bodies
Funding through alternative avenues
How to apply for development funding with Screen Australia
RMITV members who are interested in screenwriting, producing, and/or directing are encouraged to attend.
