With all of the nuance of the story removed, all we are left with is a toxic romance between two hot Australian actors. It’s Bridgerton with world-class cinematography and a funky soundtrack by Charli XCX.

Kinds of Kindness is a film that, while not without its immature and edgy side that seems cultivated purely to provoke, leaves you thinking long after the credits roll.

For all of its idiosyncrasies, Asteroid City is an out-of-this-world homerun for its director, ranking up there with Wes' very best.

However blunt its approach may be (and perhaps that obtuseness is key to something like this working for many audiences), The Whale succeeds on its emotional front, conveying a broader message of understanding and sympathy before judgement.
