Ultimately, Sentimental Value tells a familiar story, but the humanity of its characters and use of form in telling its story means it transcends the tropes and cliches of both films about filmmaking and family melodramas.

Number 24 is a heart-touching and thought-provoking exploration of the consequences of war, and ultimately philosophical in a quintessentially Nordic way. 

Mr. K is ambitious, imaginative and impressive, but the setup is unfortunately better than the payoff.

The events that took place in the Stuljema mines in 1907 are as inspiring as they are fascinating; they deserve a great film adaptation, The Riot is not this.
